Ali Kirunda Kivejinja was born in June 12, 1935, is a veteran Ugandan politician and Senior Presidential Advisor to the President of Uganda. He is also currently serving as the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East African Community Affairs in the Ugandan Cabinet. He started his early education at the Kibuli Junior School and then enrolled in Busoga College Mwiri in Uganda. After that, he took a pre-university course at Madras Christian College before obtaining a Bachelor of Science (Honors) Degree in Zoology at Delhi University on a Government of India scholarship. During his degree years, he was the treasurer of the African Students Association.

In the past years, he had served as the Minister for Relief and Social Rehabilitation, Internal Affairs and as Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda. He also authored a book, Uganda: The Crisis of Confidence, which is about Uganda’s political history. In 2017, he was invited as one of the keynote speakers at East African Petroleum Conference and Exhibition 2017.
